The Mirror believe that the latest club to have expressed an interest in seemingly unwanted Chelsea playmaker Mata is Pep Guardiola’s Bayern Munich.

Mourinho has privately told Mata that he can leave if he wants to, but the club will not sanction a loan move to the likes of Atletico Madrid or Napoli. Chelsea will take £20m for the club’s player of the season the last two years and do not want to sell to another Premier League rival.

Mata needs to play more regularly if he has any hope of making Spain’s World Cup squad or to have a chance of actually getting a game during the tournament in Brazil.

  1. I don’t know why Mourinho doesn’t see Juan Mata in his future plans, he really is a class player. Due to the knew rules brought in regarding clubs needing to remain competitive in a business sense do you think offloading Mata is partly due to Chelsea needing to make more money to stay eligible to play in Europe?
