Arsenal are preparing a £32 million bid for Atletico Madrid star Diego Costa. Chelsea are also interested in signing the 25 year old Brazilian, but were going to make their bid in the summer. Arsenal now look more likely to land the forward, as Arsenal are currently out of strikers after Nicklas Bendtner sprained his ankle after scoring during Wednesday’s 2-0 victory over Cardiff City, whilst Olivier Giroud is also out with an ankle injury.
Costa has a £32 million buyout clause in his contract. It would be a great signing for the Gunners after the £42.5 million purchase of Real Madrid’s Mesut Ozil in the summer. Costa has scored an amazing 19 goals in 17 games this season, which is why it is no wonder he is attracting a lot of interest. He has also declared he wants to play for the Spanish National Team, even though he was born in Brazil.
Arsenal have been relying on Olivier Giroud a lot this season, but now him and Nicklas Bendtner are both injured,Arsenal really need to invest in a Striker. But is Diego Costa the right move for the Gunners? They need a goal scorer, and he seems to be just that.
Lille striker Solomon Kalou, who has also been linked with Arsenal, has made it clear that he would like to return to the Premier League, after spending six years with London rivals Chelsea, during his time at Stamford Bridge, he netted 36 goals.
