Jose Mourinho is in danger of losing his ‘special one’ title, after Chelsea’s average start to the season. This comes after Chelsea’s dull 0-0 draw with London rivals Arsenal.
The game has to go down as one of the most boring, uninspiring contests of the season. It was a match that saw just six shots on target, four of them came from Chelsea.
Mourinho has always achieved the results to back his undoubted ego, but this season Mourinho looks a shadow of is former cocky self.
The self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ has yet to find his best 11 and finds himself with three out-of-form strikers. Torres, Eto’o and Ba have all struggled in front of goal this season. This has come whilst Chelsea loanee Romelu Lukaku thrives at Everton, netting eight times in 13 Premier League games with three assists.
The Mourinho teams of old yielded such characters as Didier Drogba and Claude Makélélé. These players were players at the heart of the club who could always be counted on to pull them out of games. Now, the Chelsea team seems to be full of fringe player’s.
Jose’s team isn’t necessarily playing bad. They still sit 3rd position, two points off top. But one things for certain, Jose will not be happy if the club finish in this current position.
